This type of helmet is believed to have developed from the Phrygian helmet that spread in ancient Greece. But the model we offer here is generally known from the Roman arenas as the typical helmet of the Thracian or Thraex gladiators.

This reproduction is made of high-quality steel and is adorned with brass-coloured fittings on the characteristic crest and forehead. The face shield is suspended from three small hinges and secured with a small swiveling latch. A padded cap is included in the delivery.
