Medieval scissors

The earliest scissors we know of date to the Middle East 4000 years ago. They consisted of two blades connected by a curved  strip at the end. Squeezing the blades brought them together, and releasing them opened them up.

Shears and scissors, common implements in the Middle Ages, were made in a variety of materials and sizes according to their use.
