AA4000 French Infantry Briquet Saber

This French infantry Sabre was widespread at Napoleon's times in most of Europe. It was just after the French Revolution and the sabre was the weapon of choice of Napoleon's light cavalry (the Hussars). Napoleon's spectacular victories across all Europe gave them plenty of reason to celebrate. During these parties the cavalry would open the Champagne with their sabres.

This saber has a forged, unsharpened blade and is made of carbon steel. The handle parts are made of brass. Included is a scabbard with brass fittings.
Total length approx 78cm
